Laura Steele

I was a teacher for 15 years with a Teaching Certificate from Ontario Normal Teachers School, 1953.  Over the years I saw many pupils that needed special classes and how they were able to progress from these classes.  Years later, my grandson was one of these children.  He was fortunate in that he was able to qualify to go to Trillium Demonstration School.

Today, he has a good job and has integrated well into society.  He is a person of whom I am very proud.  Had he not had the opportunity to attend Trillium his life would have turned out very differently.  While attending Trillium he learned the curriculum expected of him, but he also learned how to be a self-sufficient person with integrity.

We need more schools like Trillium for these students.

Sincerely,

Lorna (Smart) Steele
